One would never guess these boots are more controversial than Lady Gaga's meat dress that she wore to MTV'S VMA awards. Fashion gurus were fumed when they found out the must have moccasins and tall/short boots were made from real two-faced sheepskin. Stylish celebs and non-fur fanatics attacked the company but the UGG boot still lives on.

Every October I pull the two posh pairs I own out of my closet because I know my walk to class won't be complete unless I'm wearing the only boots that keep my toes toasted. I can't forget to mention the magnificent moccasins that may make floors a little slippery to walk on, but that's the sacrifice fashionistas must bear. "As soon as fall hits, I pull my UGGs out of storage, because I know it's the time of year to wear them again," said senior Ashley DeLorenzo.

These boots keep popping back up on the winter style radar. According to Google, people are searching for UGG like they are going out of style. They appear to be the hottest trend for the coldest season. I think the best part about wearing the tall or short fur feet protectors is that you can pair them with anything. Regardless if you're sporting slouched sweats and a tee or skinny jeans and a sweater, UGGs compliment any student's style. "I can't go a day without wearing my UGGs. Even if it's for five minutes, they keep me so warm. And they look great with leggings! I really can't get enough of them," said junior Alyssa Cipriano.

Rave for the UGG

Like Cipriano, students rave about the sheepskin footwear. One morning I decided to count how many pairs of UGGs were floating around campus. In a ten minute walk, I saw over 17 pairs of uber UGGs. Tall, short, crocheted, buttoned, pink, grey, black, browns, and leopard. I've seen them all.

UGGs are a trend that will never leave the spotlight of students and stylish souls around the world. While the boots will always be a trademark, one fashionista is trying to get all the business she could at her local shop for the holiday.
